The show turn out that is. We (as a club) didn't even sell enough to cover our expenses. We have to sell $18000 to do so. The club gets 15% of the sales, which pays for the cost of the show.
Renting the Civic Center, insurance, etc. Our mailing list has 2000 names on it, which costs a small fortune to send out each year, along with other items we have to pay out.Saturday is always our best day. We only sold $9,000, and yesterday was about $3,000.
I did very well as always. It will be a few weeks before I'll know what my total sales were, but the majority of my pieces went out the door as fast as I could put them up.
I sold every bracelet I put out, as well as every wire wrapped (Dichroic Glass) Cabochon I took. Some of the bracelets were priced at $45! I didn't put chains with the pendants, so I was able to keep the costs of the wire wrapped cabachons down to $18. They were snatched off the table! I also took orders from several customers so I'll have to get started on the jewelry again after Thanksgiving.
I made a lot of 3D Lights this year and sold them as fast as I could plug them in. I used to sell them in ceramic for $15. I sold them for $40 in porcelain without any problems.
The thing that didn't sell worth a hoot were my carousel animals! I had dragons, tigers, lions, rabbits, elephants, ostriches... and brought most of them home. They were priced at $25 each, which was a good price, they were drop dead gorgeous. Underglazed, opal luster, and loads of 14K gold luster, plus the brass carousel pole. Funny thing was that I got orders from our club members for them to paint next year. Go figure!
We'll do the show again next year but we'll have to minimize the portion of the civic center we rent and knock off some of the extra's we've indulged in.
