PIP Lace Draped

I've posted several views of the lace drape doll I finished assembling yesterday (Sunday). She has NOT been bisque fired yet. I wanted to take the photos so you can see what English Netting looks like when it's draped. Then if it all falls off during the firing, you'll recall why we don't use english netting very often for porcelain lace draping. hehehe
I painted her with the Spanish Oils, then used my normal one stroke underglaze on her eye lids, cheeks, lips, and nails.
I used yellow porcelain slip for this project.
When you see her, she will have blue/green on her head. That's the glaze dots I used to attach ringlets I made of embroidery thread. I dipped the thread in slip, stripped it, coiled it around a kiln rod, let it set for a little while, then dipped it in the Spanish oil. I've never tried this, nor do I know of anyone who has. So it may NOT work out. You can see how much I moved the "ringlets" from the dots of glaze that's just sitting there doing nothing. Anyhow, if the coloring doesn't work out, I'll china paint the "hair." I used Cinnamon Spanish Oil for the hair. I thought it would compliment the yellow gown. The glaze will help hold those tiny, ringlets in place during the firing.
Unlike the One-Stroke underglaze, Spanish oils are clear, so you can't see whats been painted and what hasn't been painted.
Notice the gantlet. They were easy. Much easier then slip painting them on like I did the doll I draped last week... which is in the kiln cooling down. I finally got her glazed and fired today.
On the Bustle and at the bottom of the dress where the two laces meet, I am going to put tiny porcelain roses. But I am going to glue them on after the firing. I'm concernd they might fall off and damage the lace. I hate making roses that tiny, but I'll do it for her if she makes it thru the firing.
