...grrrr

I made the lace draped doll yesterday. Everything went well, with one exception. I wanted to paint the face details with the Spanish Oils BEFORE I started appplying the laces.
Half way thru the draping, I realized I had painted the flesh and hair colors, but for some reason, stopped before I painted the eyes, brows, lips and cheeks. It's gonna be tough to paint them using China paints, simply because I can't hold her. I am one of those painters who likes to cross my legs and place the head my knee to paint when I do my detail work!

I did remember to slip-paint gauntlets (fingerless gloves) on her hands and up over the elbow. I did the gloves with white slip. At the end of the "V" on the hand I painted tee tiny pearls to make it look as though pearls are holding the gauntlet to the middle finger, using dimensional paste (so it will look 3D). I have to admit I wanted to put pearls on her neck and hair too, but that was part of the face thingy I forgot.

I posted a photo of a real gauntlet in the PIP.

It will be Wednesday before I can bisque fire and then take some photos. I will also post several photos of the Lladro pieces I painted last week. They are waiting for the kiln too.

Gesh, I have a platter, two serving dishes, two lladro figurines, gobs of ornaments, some half dolls (done in spanish oils), wall pockets and the lace draped doll to bisque fire. Tell me I ain't been a busy gal. I didn't mention all the glazing and firing for the kitchen tiles too. Whew.
