If I ever get to go there I want to go when the snow is on the ground... And take the train thru the Alpines.

Sigh... I'm afraid it looks like dh and I will have to work til we die just to pay gas, house insurance and taxes. Gas was $3.30 just before the Memorial day weekend. High-test was $3.80/gal. The prices started dropping Wednesday, but is still hanging around $3.10. The news station reported that a gas station in Orlando that was selling regular (yesterday) for $2.99/gal. People waited in line for 5 hours to get it. Speaking of Orlando, they are getting ready to lay new water lines in older neighborhoods. The news reported the water bills will jump from the average $50 bill to about $120 per month.

I don't know how retired people can manage anymore. Paying $2,000 to $3,000 MORE for house insurance every year is about as much as they can take. Now another $600+ a year for water! And we all got hit with an extra $60 month ($800 a year) for our electric bills that ain't going away either.... Alstate has been sending letters to their customers that they will no longer provide house insurance, BUT they will give them a 3% discount on their automotive insurance if they will keep the coverage on their cars.

I swear, it's like having kids in college... except it ain't gonna end in a few years.
